Adjusting the Plan

As they do every year just after Thanksgiving, weight watcher is adjusting the plan. I always find it exciting. I know... I'm weird. But I like getting a new 3-month journal. It looks a bit different, and that seems to help me fight the boredom, at least for a little while.

I got the new journal on Monday and also decided to adjust my *starting day* of my week journaling to Monday. I will admit I have been going overboard on Thursday nights after weighing in on Thursday afternoon. This way I have to be accountable since the next day is not just starting a new week.

I also decided to change how I think about things. I decided I'm only going to use my activity points as *bonus* points. I don't plan to use the weekly points plus allowance for those.

The one big change to the program and how it affects me, though, is that they lowered my daily point target to 26 (from 29). I think this is going to help me too.

This was a good week, a loss of 1.8 pounds. I also got in a good amount of activity, good days running and good days with weights.

I have been thinking about some stuff related to this lately too. No matter how I treat my body, time is going to pass by. So, why not now? Instead of looking at all the time I've lost, I want to focus on all the time I don't want to lose in the future. I don't want to waste another summer by being too large to feel good in a bathing suit. I don't want to spend another summer trying not to wear shorts because they make me self-concious.

I have a break from school coming up. I want to make it count. I want to use this like my *biggest-loser* chance. An opportunity to really zone in on activity and healthful eating. I do have some tricky things to encouter coming up over the next month too, but I'm ready! BRING IT ON!!!!

So Long and So Much!

It's been far too long since I posted and things have really been going well! On Nov 12th I ran a 12K with my friend Jordan. I finished in 83 minutes fighting CRAZY wind for the last 3.5K. I was kind of dissapointed in my time actually because my time was going SOOO WELL until that last 3.5K. But alas I did finish!

So what's next you ask? Well in January I will start training to do a half-marathon with Jordan. It's on April 29th! Yep, so, my 12K was about 7.4 miles and a half-marathon is 13.1 miles.

It's really interesting, running that is. I never thought I'd like it. In fact I was absolutely sure I hated it. Now I go running 3 times a week. Twice a week it's a *short run* of 3 miles. Even more crazy is to think my definition of a short run is 3 miles. Then I typically do a long run (long for me anyway) of 5 miles on Saturdays. I feel so good when I'm done, and I don't hate it. I'm not sure I'd say I *love* running, but I enjoy it.

So as far as weight, it's still been going down. Certainly I wish it'd go down faster. We are approaching Christmas & Winter break (of 5 weeks) at my school. I've been thinking today that I need to really use that time well to bust some but (pardon the language) and make a dent in this process (like Biggest Loser style). If I could get a significant loss during that time that'd be AWESOME!
